A coup not only on its own terms — this guy supposedly ran the Quetta Shura, the Taliban’s leadership council, so it’s a major intelligence windfall — but in what it portends about Pakistan’s posture towards the Taliban.
This is an interesting development and congrats to the CIA and Intel communities. What the wonder is, is how the administration will handle it now. Has he been read his rights? Which city will he be tried in? Gitmo? Foreign soil? Let the Pakistani's keep him?
If not for the inconsistencies in this White House, such cynicism might not be necessary. It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds.
